Vandendool Jewellers – I can’t say enough about this place – especially Joanne. From the time we visited to investigate engagement rings, to creating a custom wedding band, the service was exceptional. They were even prepared to order us a new wedding band for my now husband when it went missing (gasp!) two weeks before the wedding during the Christmas holidays! Vandendools also features the Swarovski collection which made great thank you gifts for the wedding party and for those that helped to make our day truly unique.

Stacy’s Creations Photography - Where do I begin? Stacy is so talented and has a real passion for her photography. Armed with her assistant Traci and a “bag full of tricks” she captured every element of our day from our “first look” to first dance. Our wedding was on new years eve and by new years day we already had several images to preview. That girl works fast! There are several packages to choose from. We also had engagement pics done with Stacy (what a great way to “test-drive” your photographer! She was awesome and we ended up with a photo guestbook of engagement shots for the wedding day. Our guests loved the idea and it gives us something to keep tucked away on a bookshelf for reminiscing. While our wedding is done, I’m sure we’ll be seeing Stacy again. Invitations by Wedding Belle – Stylish and elegant was the theme for the day and Invitations by Wedding Belle certainly set the tone with our wedding invitations! They offer a variety of designs that can be customized to your colours and will also do unique and custom invitations from scratch. The best part – they didn’t break the bank. In fact, they came in under budget by $200! So we could spend a little extra in other areas. The Invitation package included the invitations, reply cards and envelopes and for 100 invitations it was just $199! They also do bridal shower invites and custom thank you cards using your wedding photos which I will certainly be taking advantage of!

Welland Lions Hall – This beautiful venue was even more breathtaking once the décor and flowers were set up. The Lions Halls was very accommodating, the food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. They certainly take pride in what they do and it shows. Wedding prices include linens and chair covers (which was one less thing for us to worry about!). Dave was on top of everything from day one and we certainly trusted that we were in good hands.

Urban Blossoms – Sabrina at Urban Blossoms is a true floral magician! Our “showstopping’” centerpieces certainly made a statement, exactly what Ms. Gaeta was hoping for! With tall vases, crystals, bling, lights and more hydrangeas than I’ve seen in one place, she transformed our hall into a lavish and elegant event.

The first post of 2011! Personally 2010 wrapped up with bang as I wed my super-fantastic, ever so handsome, always there for me husband on New Years Eve. To all those planning weddings in 2011, congratulations! It’s such an exciting time with lots to do! And it is all so worth it in the end. Our day went off without a hitch, in large part to the numerous service providers that we chose to make our day happen. So January’s posts will be dedicated to them! To all the brides-to-be, I hope this gives you some direction when planning your big day! I researched so many companies while planning my own wedding, I hope this saves you some time and energy. This month I will showcase some of my favourites (which of course we hired for our big day!) Most are located in it Niagara region. So without further ado….
Gala Décor – Christina at Gala Décor is absolutely amazing. Her style is impeccable and it shows in her work. From the beautiful ceiling drapery, elegant backdrop, cake table and uber-stylish money box, everything was spot on! Gala décor services the Niagara and Hamilton areas. Rates are reasonable and they truly do offer the best in wedding décor! Our hall was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!
